Our way of doing assessments in an educational context
Several of our members offer a package of assessment that is flexible to your organisation’s needs. This may include:
- the relvant sections of a Form 8 required for applying for examination access arrangements, accompanied by a concise diagnostic report to inform effective learning support,
- a full diagnostic report for your HE students or those ready to apply to university and needing evidence for the Disabled Students’ Allowance (DSA),
- an individualised diagnostic report for employers or to explain dyslexia to the individual and their families.
We are very aware of the implications (under the Equality Act 2010) of the recommendations we make in our reports and your responsibility to make “reasonable adjustments.” We offer consultancy and staff training on how you can implement strategies that are friendly to dyslexic adults, including awareness-raising workshops, advice on assistive technology and proactive strategies for teaching and learning and support services.
We have supplied services to several major FE colleges in the region, and deliver individual support to dyslexic adults in employment (Access to Work) and at university. We all have a background in FE, vocational training and/or adult education. Dyslexia Positive ensures each assessor has a criminal records check. You can read profiles of us all here on our website, and we will supply full CVs and copies of certificates if you chose to work with us.
